Burrowing Owl

We don’t have any Burrowing owls on exhibit but that doesn’t mean you can’t learn a fun fact about them! These owls make their homes in underground burrows. They may take up residence in an abandoned burrow or dig their own. They prefer to live in open habitats with sandy soil and sparse vegetation but they can also be found in urban areas, including golf courses, vacant lots, and even airports.
