If you have found an injured, sick, or orphaned wild animal, please call the Sanctuary at (561) 575-3399. If it is after our normal business hours, you will be directed to an emergency number. We strive to offer 24 hour telephone support for wildlife in need.
When rescuing a wild animal your first thought may be to comfort the creature and provide it with food. However, handling an injured animal can cause stress, and feeding can often cause harm. The diets of wild animals are very complex, so it is better to do as little as possible until you can get the animal to a wildlife rehabilitation facility.
The Busch Wildlife Sanctuary’s wildlife hospital is available to receive injured animals Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM; Sunday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Arrangements for later drop-off can sometimes be accommodated if arrangements are made in advance.
The Sanctuary is a non-profit organization funded by donations. You can help us save time and money by volunteering to bring us the animal for treatment. Each day, we receive many new patients. Your help will aide our medical staff in continuing to treat our current patients and be ready for each new patient. Due to limited funding, we simply do not have the financial resources to send a staff member out for every animal rescue. Your understanding and assistance is greatly appreciated!
