Mississippi Kite

The Mississippi kite is named after the Mississippi River region, where it was first identified. As a migratory species, these birds fly thousands of miles every year on their journey from South America to their breeding areas in south-central U.S. This kite has a permanent wing injury and is not able to complete this arduous task.
