Northern Raccon
We currently house two Northern raccoons. The raccoon on the left is partially blind and the larger one on the right was kept illegally as a pet.
It is important to understand that raccoons along with other mammals such as bats, foxes, and skunks are rabies vector species. Actually, any mammal can contract rabies, including people. To ensure the well-being of wildlife, your pets, and yourself, never interact with wild mammals, including babies. If you notice an animal exhibiting unusual behavior, this includes displaying aggression or acting tame, please do not approach or attempt to handle the animal, instead call your local wildlife sanctuary, Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, or Animal Care and Control.
